high pH level tap water-plant effects?

just curious for those of you with very high pH tap water, do you adjust your tap water for pH to optimize hydroponics success? if you do adjust, how difficult is it to keep the pH in the appropriate range, how often do you have to check and readjust? any other useful comments about pH and hydroponics welcome.
thanks

Re: high pH level tap water-plant effects?

ph is very important. It will efect the plants ability to take up nutriance. allthough you have pleanty of nutriance in the tank the plant will starve to death. Deferant plants like deferant ph ranges. what ever plant you are growing find out what ph range it likes and keep it in that range. your plant will thank you for it.
